Helpful Suggestions for Home Educators

How to simplify the decision making process…applies to most any decision.

“Why do you homeschool?,” is a question we will all get asked more than once.  One mom’s answers are found at the link below.

Enjoying the Early Years Seminar

Our monthly meeting will be held on Thursday, 9/18 from 6:30-9:30 P.M. (this much time is being allowed for set up, meeting, and clean up.)  We will be able to provide childcare, BUT need to know how many children will actually need care.  There will be a charge for this care, but it will not be expensive.  If this will be a problem, please contact B ASAP.  Location details will be posted on the e-group.

You can find out about the seminar by visiting the following link:

Enjoying the Early Years – Simply Charlotte Mason

Keep in mind that we will only be watching the first disc of the seminar during the meeting.  The entire seminar will be available from the library as soon as it opens.  The second disc deals specifically with teaching reading using CM methods.  So, if you’re interested in that, you might want to order the set for yourself, or put your name on the list to check it out.

If you are a mother of children who are past this stage, please come to the meeting/seminar anyway.  Plan to encourage young moms with honest help that will enable them to enjoy this time in their lives.

Bring a kid friendly potluck item for the meal.  We’ll all be little children for the evening.  Make sure it’s something simple, inexpensive, and fairly nutritious.  Something moms of young’uns would be able to prepare on a small income, in a hurry, and feel good about feeding it to their children.

Desperate Book Study

We will begin a book study on August 11th.  The title is Desperate:  Hope for the Mom Who Needs to Breathe, by Sarah Mae and Sally Clarkson.  There will be an online discussion of the book by way of the Tailor Made Book Study e-group.  Check CBD, Amazon, and e-Bay for the best price on paperback, e-book, or audiobook.  It’s your choice.

Find out more about the book by watching:

Please join us for our first book study of the year!  You will be blessed!  If you have questions, please contact Sarah through the e-group.

Rescheduling to be Posted ASAP

Although we were able to relocate park day/public speaking to the FPC fellowship hall, God decided to bless us with wintery ice, sleet, and frigid temps.  The road closures, power outages, and bad weather conditions mean that we will reschedule for another day.  Watch the e-group to find out when we will practice improvisational speeches.

Stay warm!
